Smashing Pumpkins Frontman, Billy Corgan to Open Tea Shop in Chicago
Smashing Pumpkins frontman, Billy Corgan announced today via his twitter account (@Billy) that he has plans to open a tea house on Chicago’s North Shore. Billy Corgan isn’t the first well known musician to jump into the tea business, electronic musician Moby opened a tea shop called “teany” in New York city in 2002.

I'm writing a full-length book on tea. No history, just practical tea information and SCIENCE!

I used to buy a hibiscus tea a few years back that came just like any other tea in the little bag. You prepared it like another tea just added boiling water. The maker discontinued it and for the last few years I have wanted it again terribly, I have found various sites that sell loose leave and recipes but I am wondering how close it will be to what I used to buy. I also found a site offering a box of hibiscus tea punch. I don’t know what to buy and I am looking for some input from others.

Thanks that looks close to what I had before but a diffrent brand, I think the loose leaves will work after reading the description of that box.
This is rather fascinating…he’s not the sort I’d think of as the first music celebrity to open a tea shop…Moby would be a more likely candidate. But the fact that he doesn’t exactly fit the typical tea-shop-owner profile makes me curious to see what he’s going to put together for this one.
I guess it makes sense though, if I were wealthy and well-known from some other venture, I’d probably use some of my fame and money to start little ventures here or there that reflected or expressed things that I was passionate about, or just random ideas that I had.
