Interests: Good tea, good conversation, surfing, golfing, writing.
Favorite Tea Variety: Oolongs
Favorite tea: Tieguanyin Light Roast, though I just had some Zealong Pure that was pretty awesome
How long have you been into tea?: A couple of my buddies (Dylan Jhaveri and Marlon Molinare, founders of Chan Teas) were serving tea in the traditional Gong Fu Cha style and I had to figure out what it was all about. Since I got my first Gaiwan about a year ago, the pouring hasn’t stopped…
What got you started with tea?: Sitting around with my buddies, sharing in conversation, and realizing that tea was at the center of it all.
How do you store your tea?: Just in the bags that they came in.
Flavored Tea?: Not really, I think the idea behind blends is interesting, but I try to stick to the roots. The complexities of standard loose leaf have kept me busy enough.
Do you also drink coffee?: Sometimes there’s nothing better than a strong cup of coffee, gotta admit.
What is the perfect setting for drinking tea?: Getting back from an early morning surf session, to come home, drink tea and dream about the morning you just had, nothing beats it.
How many cups of tea do you drink a day?: No real standard. Though I do try at least twice a day to clear my work and focus on nothing but brewing the tea in front of me.
