Slowing things down a bit.

Have you heard of the Slow Food Movement? In contrast to the fast food movement, the Slow Food Movement is a “nod to the contrast with fast food values, Slow Food is a reference to living an unhurried life, beginning at the table.” Wikipedia cites the movement as ” founded by Carlo Petrini in Italy to combat fast food. It claims to preserve the cultural cuisine and the associated food plants and seeds, domestic animals, and farming within an ecoregion. It was the first established part of the broader Slow movement. The movement has since expanded globally to over 100,000 members in 132 countries.”

I present to you these three resources as an introduction to this movement:

I'm writing a full-length book on tea. No history, just practical tea information and SCIENCE!

  1. Thanks for the resources. I believe I’m not only a true slow food type, but I’m also a slow movement adherent. I don’t belong to any group officially but I have slowed down considerably since I’ve discovered I could live my passion–tea. And I talk about some of this slowing down in my book “Spirituality of Tea.” –Teaternity

  2. What a great movement! Just what we need to get back to – The Table! ;)
